I shipped a bot called at-channel - if you've ever wanted to do a @.channel ping but don't have admin on Slack, this bot lets you do that - and as a bonus, replying in the thread won't mention everyone :) To get started, just run /channel to do a @.channel ping, or /here to do a @.here ping! (if you're in a private channel, you'll first need to add @at-channel )

Day 3 of #C045S4393CY|: Migrated to GitLab CI for production deployments on @HackClubLeeks , alongside setting up GitLab for Slack integration on HC Slack workspace across Recap Time Squad's namespace. Also cooked up some dotfiles commits by the way. Day 2 || 2 of <#C045S4393CY|> Today was a bit of a nightmare—spent 13 hours at school, including 3 hours on an impossible test.

Aside from that, I started getting back into Slack bots and might build one out. Also, I learned how to create GitHub Actions, so now I can make a website that updates from a GitHub repository! 🚀 Check out what I worked on today!

Meow, mrrow, mrow Do you get parcels from a random place called hack club and want to see what's on the way and its status? eh, maybe not. But I do, and I don't like going to the shipment viewer because it's outside slack, i need to put in my email, get a link, annoying on mobile, ugghhh. (joking, it's a great site :) ) But what if you didn't have to do that? What if... it was in Slack. Introducing @PostPuppy ! Visit the app home to see all your packages just like you would on the shipment viewer. you can even opt to get notified when the status changes. oh, and if the email you use for slack is the same that you get mail to, it'll auto sign you in! (If you use a different email, you can open settings, enter an email and get a verification link sent to you)

heyy guys I've made a bot to make 'time.cs50.io' links directly from slack; you can use it by either using create a event link shortcut or by running /createeventtimelink cmd, and drop what you think should be implemented differently or added. Also, I've some TODOs like: • Drop the link in thread if the shortcut used there.. • Nd, if you use the global shortcut, you'll get the link shown in the next modal popup instead of sending them in DMs. • and also logging them somewhere to show them in the home tab and it is named timesaber; @ttt

I'm working on #C087QT3QUV7|! It's going to be a Slack ARG where you solve puzzles throughout Slack to join channels and progress through the game. Sounds simple right? The catch is that it's entirely written in Slack workflows with only 1st party functions, no integrations. I've been hammering out the functionality today and have built a system that lets you put in your answer to a puzzle and if it's correct then you'll get added to the next channel! This system has error handling too - if you get it wrong then you'll get a message telling you that it's wrong. There's also random text for when you submit, get it right or get it wrong. It's basically functionally finished now, I just need to create the puzzles :D (I have a few Slack windows open - this is currently made up of 4 Slack Lists and 7 workflows)

I got a bit more done on Slack Summarizer today; I added the Python OAuth server and I started working on the Rust side of it. My wifi was really slow for most of the day so hopefully it’s fixed tmrw.

I finally made the connections to airpods automatic on the ALN Android app! Now I don't need to worry about accidentally opening the app before connecting the airpods. I had to move around the whole service into a new one that also listens for bluetooth connections, and refactor all of my UI code, and the actual part where the l2cap socket is opened and a connection is established. Because originally the service would only run when airpods were connected. Now, the service always runs and connects to the socket itself! Along with that, I also fixed the QuickSettings tile which kept on crashing for some reason. I tried to add a overlay to show whenever airpods are connected! And it turned out to be really difficult. It doesn't want to work whenever i try to use compose instead of the layouts, so, ig i'm stuck with the old boring layoutinflators etc...

Day 1 of making HackBox - a JackBox/MadLibs game, that will use some "hacky" sentences to fill in the blank. Currently considering asking users to consent to scraping their Slack messages (reply if u consent!! it'll make the game fun and hack clubish), and/or Stack Overflow titles. Maybe you don’t use Spotify but you want a way to share what you’re listening to? Or what if you want to share the Steam game you’re playing? Look no further than @SlickStats ! You visit the app home to connect it to your account and then input your last.fm and Steam API keys for your status to magically update with what you’re listening to or playing! I spent a looong time working on OAuth for this, but I’m really happy that it’s finally done. I’m open for suggestions of other services to add! One caveat: your automatic huddle status will get overwritten because it’s not technically a status - I’ll fix this eventually It’s all open source at github.com/DillonB07/SlickStats if you want to check it out!

Let's do a quick showdown of what's been cooking for #C07NUNPGEU8| during the week of September 22 to 28, Philippines Standard Time. Apologies if this week's been a hell week due to being the 1st quarterly exam on the 25th and 26th day of September, 2024. The bulk of the coding hours in the week are dedicated to building the MVP features for the Slack app version of Recap Time Bot, our multi-purpose toolkit/service account/bot for Recap Time Squad's projects and friends, including hooking up Prisma ORM for Postgres data presistence on Nest (instead of coping up with the Airtable free tier limits) and building up some workflows via TypeScript Slack app development work (permission requests for accessing some bot features and slash commands). See the attached screenshots for a sneak peek. The rest is mostly infrastructure related work for both my personal and Recap Time Squad cloud resources (mainly Cloudflare DNS records over octoDNS and some Docker Compose shenanigans), plus some behind the scenes work for my website powered by Material for Mkdocs theme. Overall, I banked 10h 11m as of time of writing (up to the publication of this scrapbook entry), totaling to 14h 46m since September 17 (plus 10m designing for fun and profit) without the 'browsing' hours. Got a slack bot downtime notifier working! Going to integrate it with past projects tomorrow & continue with my slack bot template/toolkit.

Today I put my pronoun counter on github after cleaning up the code a bit and writing some instructions up. You can find it here. I also started working on a slack bot template for typescript but faced some odd errors I had never seen before that were not happening on a copy of the code.
